The Onion: Last season of Lost will make fans more annoying than ever
Fake news outlet, The Onion, predicts that this final season of Lost will make fans more annoying than ever.
Hilarious part: Shelters are being opened for those who live with Lost fans. Don't miss the words on the screen that say that this is modeled after successful containment of fans from The Wire (another brilliant show.)
The best part: Cuse and Lindelof are in on the joke and are actually interviewed.
Final Season Of 'Lost' Promises To Make Fans More Annoying Than Ever

Funny FAKE spoiler from Cuse, Lindelof
So, at the end of an interview, Damon Lindelof and Carlton make sure the cameras are off and then reveal the identities of Adam and Eve.
The answer will shock you. OK, it won't. But this clip will make you laugh.

Doc Jensen's Final Theory of LOST
In an upcoming Doc Jensen column at EW.com, I'll explain all of this—my Final Theory of Lost—in more detail. But regardless of my crazy guestimations, consider that seasons and individual episodes of Lost are often built around these themes: Rescue missions; parent-child reconciliation; parents who will go to reckless lengths to save their kids. I suspect the End Game will be built around those themes, too.
I think the final scene of Lost will be a redux of the Jacob/Man In Black conversation on the beach scene from last season's finale—instead this time, it'll be John Locke in Jacob's place. As for his adversary, he'll be wearing a new identity—that of Benjamin Linus. It ends with this: Fake Ben: Do you know badly I want to kill you right now? And then Locke looks at him with a knowing glint—and they laugh.
Washington Post, Doc Jensen Chat about the show
Lots of theories, guesses and fun. Spoiler free except for the mention of a few characters who are returning.
A sampling:
Reston, Va.: Liz, Jen, you know I love you, but my geek-brain is exploding over the fact that Doc Jensen is sitting in on our little chat! I'm wondering what his position is on the Ben, Good or Evil, debate.
Jeff Jensen: All this depends on what was meant when by Richard's statement that if he saved Young Ben, the kid's innocence would be lost and that he'd become one of them. My theory? In being saved, Ben basically lost his free will and became a pawn of The Island's will, an extension of it. Ben is basically then exempt from good and evil; his fate is controlled by a greater intelligence/agency. The question is: Is That greater intelligence/agency good or evil? (Assuming I am correct.)
Jen Chaney: And this supports my theory that Ben deserves a little of our sympathy. Thank you, Jeff Jensen!

More questions answered -- sorta
There are no spoilers about the plot.
Here's an example from Cuse:
Obviously, you can't answer every single question, but some things like the numbers—
No, obviously, if we said nothing about the smoke monster, if we said nothing about the numbers, we would be killed, but we believe that we recognize what the major questions are, and we will be providing some answers to those questions.

Lost as a Disneyland attraction?
From Doc Jensen at Entertainment Weekly:
they think the company’s Imagineers should renovate Tom Sawyer Island (which no one really gives a flying Huck Finn about, anyway) and turn into…The Island. Just imagine: Interactive Dharma Stations! Jacob’s Haunted Shack! Michael’s Exploding Raft! Leslie Artz’s Insect House! PLUS: Animatronic polar bears, boars and Hurley birds! An all-you-can-eat buffet at the Dharma Palette Drop! And do you dare journey into The Temple’s ancient crack and confront your inner demons within…Smokey’s Court of Judgment?!?

'State of the Union' won't pre-empt LOST (whew!)
The White House has sent down official word that, whenever President Obama decides to give his requisite "State of the Union" speech, it won't be on Feb. 2 -- the evening that Lost's sixth and final season premieres on ABC.
See the EW.com newsflash for details.
So, as showrunner Damon Lindelof gleefully tweeted today: "OBAMA BACKED DOWN!!!! Groundhog Day is OURS!!!!!!! (God bless America.)"

Say isn't so ... President's State of the Union could prempt Lost season premiere
All is not lost yet. He's also considering Jan. 26.
If Obama's address is Feb. 2, Lost could just appear a week later.
We'll keep you updated.

LOST's "Last Supper"
From left; Ilana, Richard Alpert, Claire Littleton, Sayid Jarrah, Kate Austen, James "Sawyer" Ford, John Locke [presumably Fake Locke], Jack Shephard, Jin-Soo Kwon, Ben Linus, Hugo "Hurley" Reyes, Sun-Hwa Kwon, Miles Straume, and Frank Lapidus.
The 12th Day of Lost-Mas
Here's the 12th day of scoop from Watch With Kristin at E!Online:
Helena: [Re: Locke Serves Up a Jaw-Dropper] I'm so glad to hear there's something good in store for Terry O'Quinn. Will he be a big player this season?
Locke/Terry is more important than ever in season six (and, yes, will serve up a jaw-dropper) and as boss Carlton Cuse told the Hollywood Reporter: "Jack and Locke have always been at the center of the show, that dilemma of faith vs. reason, and the conflict between those two characters has been there since the beginning. It's very exciting to bring that relationship to its conclusion." Terry has never been more commanding (nor terrifyingly awesome) than this season. I smell Emmy!
Josh in Michigan: Any chance Maggie Grace's character, Shannon, will be back on Lost for the final season?
According to my sources (including Maggie's rep), Maggie still has not shot anything new yet for Lost, and is not expected at the season premiere party in Hawaii later this month. As you've probably heard by now, we will see Ian Somerhalder (Boone) again on the new season, and as I mentioned in the first day of Lost-mas, Maggie's absence will be explained by a change to Shannon's backstory. It's pretty surprising!
Lee: When you refer to a Lostie, do you also use that term for what we know to be Others?
In one instance during Lost-mas, I used the word Lostie for someone who was not on Oceanic Flight 815.
Francesca: Are most of your spoilers in Lost-mas about the beginning of the season or the season as a whole?
The beginning. This may or may not explain some of the confusion about seemingly conflicting scoop on other sites that some of you have asked about. I have been asked not to give scoop too far out so that hopefully you fans can still let the series unfold in a way that will surprise you. As many of you know, I try to tease without giving too much away, because I know many of you don't want to be truly spoiled. (On that note I apologize for the Lost-mas Sayid headline that concerned many of you, but I believe you'll understand when you see the episode.)
Alex: [Re: Where?s Desmond?] OMG! I hope they don't kill Desmond off. He's one of the consistently good characters on the show, plus his performances are very good.
Des rocks! So far I see no need to worry, but it's wise to pray for all the characters you love this season. It's the end, so anyone can go.
Kat: [Re: This Scoop Is a Matter of Life and Death] I bet Hurley tries to kill himself. We already know he has some depressive tendencies.
That's not who I'm talking about.
jk fan: [Re: Who Is the New Big Bad?] It's Shannon's brother (Ian Somerhalder).
Yes, and we'll find out he killed someone's wife. Oh wait, sorry...Wrong show!
Heidi: [Re: Arresting Development] I'm guessing Charlie for drugs, Sayid for murder/espionage, and maybe Sawyer for being a con artist.
One of your guesses is right.
What should we expect in the final season?
It's hard to say where it will start and where it will go from there.
But, Watch with Kristin at E!Online, has a few tidbits about what kinds of things we will learn this season. (This is spoiler free. Just let's us know that we will get answers ... It just doesn't tell us what they are.) She says:
- There Are Answers. Finally, now that we are down to the very last season, Team Darlton is able to give the fans what they've been waiting five season for: answers! Who is the smoke monster? What is the Island? Why are they all there? It's all down to the wire now, and I can tell you that in the first two hours alone of Lost's sixth season, there are more "answers" to the show's huge mysteries than there were in all of last season. Even if you've fallen out of this series, you will want to tune in to the end to see what it's all about. And for you fans who've followed all along, you will not be let down.
- Terry O'Quinn Is Front and Center. Remember a few seasons back when Terry complained that John Locke's storyline was small, meek and misguided? Well, if only he could have seen then what is ahead for him in the final season: a stronger, more intense and more commanding storyline than Terry has ever had on this series. T.O.Q. just plain rocks, and the twists he will take this season will make you scream out loud.
- It's Like a High School Reunion Without Having to Worry Whether You Look Fat. As you are well aware by now, nearly all of the Losties we've loved and lost (Dominic Monaghan, Ian Somerhalder, Rebecca Mader, just to name a few) will be back in some capacity for season six. It is a pretty awesome welcome-home party, with new connections you might not have guessed.

From Watch With Kristin's spoiler chat ...
Radina in Sofia, Bulgaria: I want to thank you for the awesome Lost-mas spoilers, and I really want to know if the kiss you mention between Sawyer and someone on Lost will be a flashback or a real-time kiss?
It's not a flashback.
Wallace in Rhode Island: Thanks for all the amazing Lost scoop in the 12 days of Lost-mas! It was like Christmas over and over again. Could you give any more little morsels or is that all? I think the new season sounds pretty good. Do you think so?
Yes. From what I know so far, I truly think you all will not be disappointed. How's this for a morsel for now: One Lostie we know and love will vow to kill another Lostie we know and love.
Rachel in Rio: I've always been your number one fan, but I'm just so sad with you right now. You put "Jate" in the title of your 11th day of Lost-mas article, and when I opened the link there's a lot of Skate and Suliet spoilers, but nothing Jate. It's OK if you don't wanna or don't have any Jate spoiler to give us, but it's just cruel to do a thing like that. Thank you so much.
I am so sorry. I received many upset emails like this one, and I want you to know this was not an intentional slight. I fully meant to include something on Jate when I set out to write the article, but unfortunately was not able to dig up anything on their interaction, and (mommy brain, sorry!) simply forgot to change the title. The one thing I can tell you is that there seems to be more happening between Sawyer and Kate than Jack and Kate in the beginning of the new season, but as we all know, everything can change in one single episode on Lost, so don't give up hope. I will keep my fingers crossed for you Jate fans that there is something worth squeeing about in season six! And again, my sincere apologies.

SPOILERS: The 12 Days of Lost-Mas
(This will be updated to add the new spoilers for each day)
At E!Online, Watch with Kristin is celebrating the 12 Days of Lost-Mas.
She gives the following teases about the upcoming season:
Day 11: Six of these things are true:
- Juliet survives the bomb.
- Juliet does not survive the bomb.
- Kate and Sawyer flirt.
- Kate and Sawyer kiss.
- Juliet and Sawyer kiss.
- Jack and Sayid touch lips.
- There is a scene with Sawyer in the season premiere that will make you cry buckets—assuming you aren't a robot—and (possibly?) make you Skaters happy.
Day 9: These words will be uttered in the first six hours of the show:
- "Am I alive?"
- "It turned out she did not want out."
- "I wanted you to be able to go home."
- "I was killed by an *** ******."
- "I was supposed to die."
Day 8: Miles, who hears dead people, will carry a message from a dead character. Who could it be?
Day 7: One of the following things is true regarding Ilana and her Ajira posse:
- They were sent by Charles Widmore to kill Ben.
- They were sent by the Man in Black (Jacob's nemesis) to find the island's time travel mechanism and destroy it.
- They were sent to protect Jacob.
- They were sent to revive John Locke.
- Ilana is future Sayid in drag.
- One Lostie we've known for a long time (a dark, handsome someone) will die within the first four hours in the first shocking death of the year.
- Another Lostie we've known and loved since day one of season one will come thisclose to dying—at his own hands—but the good doctor will save him.
Who will die? Who will nearly take his own life?
Day 5: If season six is about Oceanic 815, will we see Desmond again since he wasn't on the plane?- According to sources, we will see Desmond again...
- ...fairly early on in the season.
- His first appearance will be with one of the Losties, and the scene/encounter is very surprising.
- You guys are going to love it! (Honestly)
He:
- Killed **h*.
- Killed ***o*.
- Is *** **o** *****e*.
- Wants to "g* ****."
- Sayid dies.
- Sayid kills Jack.
Remember, when we last saw these Losties they were in 1977. Sayid had been shot and Jack was near the site of the bomb that supposedly went kablooey and reset time.
Day 2: One of these is true, the other is false:
- We find out John Locke is related to C*****s *id**re and J*** ***ph*** in a way you would never ever expect—yes, "related" as in by blood!
- Terry O'Quinn does something bat-poop insane involving a character we have known since the very first episode of Lost's first season, then says: "I'm sorry you had to see me like that."
- Shannon's absence from the beginning of the new season will be explained by a significant change to Shannon and Boone's backstory.
- Sawyer will smooch someone who is either Kate or Juliet and it will happen within the first four hours of the new season.
And oh, what the hey, here's a bonus for today's Lost-mas offering only. I will go ahead and tell you that:
Both of the above are actually true. Merry Lost-Mas, everyone!
January 3, 2010
Catching up with Entertainment Weekly's Doc Jensen
Catch up with what he's been doing:
- How long has Locke actually been Fake Locke? And more. Like how JJ Abrams decided to leave Lost of MI:3 and how Lindelof and Cuse became the show runners. How Abrams "dated" Tom Cruise. And, of course, more theories.
- The island as Mouse Trap and other games.
Lost in posters
If you haven't heard, the Lost creators "commissioned" 16 posters about the show.
Pictured is the final poster. And, here is a link to all 16 posters. What clues to you think they give us?
