What is the "fork in the outlet" and will it make the audience "eat its own soul?"

NO SPOILERS HERE!

The showrunners are calling this season's game changer the fork in the outlet, as we told you in an earlier post.

What do you think it is? How will it change the show forever?

E!Online is reporting that Michael Emerson (aka Ben) is saying: that the ending is : "enough to keep an audience eating its own soul for the whole hiatus."

We've had the bagel and the snake in the mailbox. Both weren't literal.

But last season's frozen donkey wheel certainly was.

Speculate in comments!

Something on the level of the legendary "snake in the mailbox" twist would be absolutely great. (That was the season finale where we started seeing flashforwards instead of flashbacks -- but didn't really know that until the end of the show, when Suicidal Bearded Strung-Out Jack and No-Freckles Kate met up at the LA airport in 2007, and he started screaming: "We have to go back!")

All I can say is, I hope the aforementioned "fork in the outlet" is NOT an ill-conceived H-bomb blast that takes out Craphole Island and everybody in it circa 1977. Because God knows what kind of Season 6 we would get out of that catastrophe. (Maybe the mythical "Zombie Season" that Team Darlton has joked about in podcasts?)

Also, if they kill off Juliet, I'm going to be really, really ticked off. Jules rules -- let her live!
