SPOILER: What happened to Jin?

Actually, the news I have for you is "when will we find out?"

Kristin at E! Online reports that Jin's fate will be discovered in episodes four and five.

Apparently, he'll be discovered floating on a door.

Dead? Alive? If dead, will he appear in corporeal form like Jack's dad?

Lost, the map

Losties Island found this map of where things happened on the island.

We're publishing a picture here, but it's probably easier to see if you click the link.

Accurate or not?

What else should be included and where is that second island?

Lost, a quiz

So, Michael Ausellio over at Entertainment Weekly is dropping hints about what happened to the island. In the form of a quiz.

Says Ausellio:

We will come to learn that one of the following is true in Lost's fifth season premiere.
A. The Island moved forward in time.
B. The Island moved backward in time.
C. The Island did not move in time, but it did move in space -- to another location on the planet.
D. The Island did not move in time or space -- it's still there, but Dharma tech renders it invisible to the naked eye.

What do you think happened?

SPOILER: Regular Character Won't Appear in Season Five

SPOILER ALERT!

A certain character won't appear in season five but will be back in season six, according to a video interview by Michael Ausiello at Entertainment Weekly.

Emilie de Ravin, who has appeared as Claire since season 1, confirms that she'll be MIA during season 5 but will return for the last season.

She says she's "not quite sure" where Claire is during her disppearing act.

It was unclear last season whether Claire was dead or alive.

What do you think happened to Claire?

Could Fringe Outshine Lost?

There have only been two episodes of Fringe, the the most recent one just aired last night.

But that is the question of a viewer/fan to TV Guide's Matt Rousch.

Here's the question/statement from the viewer/fan:

"I truly believe that Fringe has the ability to outshine Lost, and here is why: Lost's success has always been based on its masterful storytelling and various layers of mystery. It is more a case study on the supernatural and how the supernatural affects people in a variety of ways. Fringe, however, if done correctly, has the ability to harness all of the things that Lost does, but lay it out in a very X-Files way. So what you are left with are the talents of storytelling and layers with "monsters of the week." Taking the strengths of two shows and hopefully removing the confusion of conspiracy episodes (X-Files) and the monotony with which some stories unfold (Lost) could have a really brilliant effect. I am eager to see how the first season plays out. — Josh"

In his response, Matt Rousch suggests we see more Fringe before deciding. And he says it's unlikely Fringe will catch on with viewers the way Lost did.

If you've seen Fringe and can compare the shows, Losties Island would love to hear your thoughts.

Lost Reruns on NBC

After Saturday Night Live you may have noticed that NBC ran the pilot epsiode of Lost.

Why? Lost is an ABC show.

Joyce Saenz Harris at The Dallas Morning News TV blog reports "after checking around, it appears that NBC can do this because NBC-Universal owns the SciFi and G4 channels, which are airing LOST reruns starting tonight (Sept. 15). Apparently, having bought those rights, NBC is taking advantage of the opportunity to air LOST reruns late Saturday nights."

SPOILER ALERT: Cast Member Returns

SPOILER ALERT!

Stop reading if you don't want to know.

This one has been out there for a couple of weeks, but I thought I'd post it here. A character many love to hate is back.

This spoiler courtesy of Michael Ausellio at Entertainment Weekly.

Michelle Rodriguez will be back for one episode. But details are "shrouded in secrecy."

Remember, she and Libby were shot by Michael in season 2.

A flashback, perhaps? Or will Hurley be seeing dead people?

Dharma Wants You

The Dharma Initiative has added yet another test to its bid to recruit you.

The fourth "assessment" is now available, as well as the previous three.

Good luck.

New Cast Member

Zuleikha Robinson was cast to play the role of Ilana, according to Michasel Ausiello at Entertainment Weekly. "Ilana is described as a European female who possesses great intelligence but who's also dangerous as all get out. She's alluring and apparently used to getting her own way." She will be a reoccuring character in Season 5 and will possibly be a a regular in Season 6.

Daniel Dae Kim Guilty of DUI, Loses License

Daniel Dae Kim, who plays Jin, pled no contest to DUI and lost his license, reports E! Online.

No contest is basically just not contesting the charges against him. The result is the same as being found guilty.

His blood alcohol level was .168 -- more than twice the legal limit -- when he was arrested in October 2007.

When we last saw Jin, he was one the exploding freighter.

Do you think Jin is dead or alive? And is there a Lost curse for the stars who get in trouble?

Episode 5.01: Because You Left

MINOR SPOILERY TIDBITS BELOW

The first episode of the new season will be called Because You Left.

It looks like it will be either Hurley or Sayid based. Sayid will be "introducing" Hurley to his new career. So says Lost podcast The Transmission.

Does this mean Hurley will be doing Ben's bidding, as well?

Cast in Other Roles: Lance Reddick

Lance Reddick, who we know and love as Lt. Cedric Daniels on The Wire, plays the guy who showed up asking questions of Huley at the assylum and as an orderly when Locke was recouperating.

Does his big role on the new J.J. Abrams show Fringe preclude him from returning to Lost?

It's at the very end of the video from Michael Ausellio from Entertainment Weekly, so I'll tell you the answer: Apparently, the answer is no. He'll be back.

See the video, which is mainly about Fringe, but also mentions Lost and Alias:

Cast in Other Roles: the freight captain

According to Michasel Ausiello at Entertainment Weekly: "Ex-Lost thesp Grant Bowler -- he played the swarthy freighter captain who was shot and killed in last May's finale -- is dropping anchor at Ugly Betty."

Cast in Other Roles: Tania Raymonde

Tania Raymonde, who plays Ben's daughter Alex on Lost, will join the cast of Cold Case as a "funky lab tech." So reports Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly.
When we last saw Alex, she was, uh, dead.

Catching up on Lost

UPDATED TO ADD WEB SITES WITH FREE EPISODES.

If you missed an episode or just want to go back and checjwhat you might notice now that you've seen all the episodes, check out Lost reruns on cable or on the web.

Full episodes from season 4 are also available on ABC's website. Multiples seasons are availble at Hulu. Episodes at both sites are free.

Our own Losties member Joyce Saenz Harris reports on The Dallas Morning News TV blog:

"We told you about this a good while back, but here's a reminder for the Losties out there: G4 starts replaying the entire series [so far] on Monday, Sept. 15, as will the SciFi Channel (which will run Lost in 4-hour blocks at 6 p.m.), also on Sept. 15. G4 says its Lost broadcasts will be "enhanced" episodes, but we're not sure if ScFi's also will be full of those distracting little popups, commentaries and Easter eggs."

Dharma is Recruiting

I'm sure we all want to work for Dharma.

Good news, then. They're recruiting.

Check out their recruitment website and take the tests needed to work there.

Blog rules about spoilers; No actual spoilers in this post

Remember to mark all spoilers as such. It would even be better if the word SPOILER appeared in all caps and then you hit return a few times before revealing the scoop. Many people like to read about the show but don't want to know plot lines.

If I post spoilers, I will try to indicate what the spoiler is about. It's a bit different to post that they are looking for a person in their 30s to play a role than to say Kate is really a man. (Yes, I made that up.)

Instead of Mass E-mails

To avoid mass e-mails and allow us to look back at the messages and articles we send out, I'm converting our Losties family to a blog.

I'll try to get this up and running soon. I will figure out how to allow other people to post. But for now, just send me things you come across.

I'll probably send out a mass e-mail once we get close to the new season to remind everyone off the blog's address.
