Season 6 will answer 'oldest and most confounding' mystery

No spoilers here. I don't don't what the answer is or what will be answered.

But, according to Michael Ausiello at Entertainment Weekly: "I hear Team Darlton will give us the answer to one of Lost’s oldest and most confounding mysteries. And I’m pretty sure it’s an answer none of us expected to get."

What mystery could it be? The numbers? What is smokey? Who are Adam and Eve?

How much Claire will we see in Season 6?

From Michael Ausiello at Entertainment Weekly:

Question: Is Emilie de Ravin going to be back on Lost for the whole season or just a few episodes? And will we get to see what happened to her? —Jared

Ausiello: The answer to both of your questions is a resounding yeppers. Better prepare yourself though. My Lost mole says season 6 will showcase “a version of Claire we’ve never seen before — a Rousseau-esque version.” We’ll be in need of a Rousseau fix since the real version will be MIA.

Lost plane to crash on Desperate Housewives' Wisteria Lane?

Yes and no.

It's crashing. But it's a nod to Lost fans, not a crossover.

Thankfully.

Claire's Season 6 return: Is she alive, or un-dead?

We all knew that Emilie De Ravin is supposed to return as Claire in Season 6 of LOST. But EW's Michael Ausiello offers some intriguing theories, courtesy of Doc Jensen.

No real spoilers here, just lots of speculation on Doc's part. He says:

"Any scenario that brings Claire back to Lost must address the mysterious
circumstances of her disappearance at the end of season 4, in which many of us
were led to believe that she was as dead -- or rather, undead -- as the Ghost
Christian that's been haunting The Island since season 1. So here's one thought:
Juliet changed time in the season finale by detonating Jughead, and season 6
will tell the story of the new timeline, one in which Claire is alive. Another
thought: In light of the revelation that John Locke was actually a supernatural
impostor for half of season 5, perhaps in season 6, we'll get a storyline in
which Claire just emerges out of the jungle, with no memory of what happened to
her -- just like season 1 -- and we and the castaways will be left to wonder: Is
this the real Claire or another impostor infiltrating them a la Locke? Heck,
maybe that's going to be the major idea of next season: Who's really alive and
who's really (un)dead? It really will be the fabled zombie season of
Lost!"

So is Juliet, uh, dead?

So, there was supposed to be a major death in the Lost finale.

Is Juliet that death? She did trigger the bomb. But everyone else would have "died" as time was reset, right?

Well, Elizabeth Mitchell's show, V, was picked up.

But don't count out our Juliet, says Michael Ausiellio over at Entertainment Weekly.

Season finale spoilers

Someone's getting married in the season finale of Lost, reports EW's Michael Ausellio.

Because of reports that the show is looking for actors of Asian decent, there's speculation that it could be a flashback to Jin and Sun's wedding. Could this mean that Jin and Sun will reunite in the finale. (Speaking of the reunion, any idea how Jin could go back to the future or how Sun could return to the past?)

But the "wild rumor" is that Aaron and Jin and Sun's baby marry in the future. Hmmm.

That's not the only rumor to surface.

The bewitching Elizabeth Mitchell, aka Juliet, has reportedly been cast in the ABC pilot "V." Could she be the major charater marked for death this season?

Entertainment Weekly's Ausellio had this news about a Lost casting call:

Lost has put out a casting call for the role of Captain Bird, a charismatic and intelligent ex-military man in his 40s or 50s who is concerned about the safety of his crew. He'll appear in this season's 15th episode as well as the finale. Also being sought are actors to play Young Jeff, a 10-year-old with a Southern accent and a deep anger that hides great pain, and Doug a strong and authoritative Southern gent in his 40s who is forced to deliver bad news to his buddy. Paging Doc Jensen for instanalysis...

Could Young Jeff actually be a Young Sawyer?

TV Best in Show

Over at Entertainment Weekly, Michael Ausellio has named his TV best in show for 2008.

Lost was a runner up for Best Drama Series (The Shield Won) and Michael Emerson was the runner-up for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama. ( Walton Goggins of The Shield won.)

Casting News: Jack's grandfather

Sometime in episode seven, we'll meet Jack's grandfather, reporters Entertainment Weekly's Michael Auselio.

"He'll be played by Raymond Berry who's probably best known for his role as Tom Cruise's dad in Born on the Fourth of July."

Lost is casting a new Sayid?!?!?!?

From Michael Ausellio at Entertainment Weekly:

Oh, don't get your knickers in a knot! Naveen Andrews isn't leaving Lost. However, if my hunch is correct, in this season's 10th episode -- a Sayid-centric outing that starts shooting later this week -- a new actor will be playing his part.

"Whatchutalkinbout', Willis?" you say?

Follow along now: A casting call has gone out for the roles of a father and his 12- and 8-year-old sons, all of whom, I'm told, will have to be fluent in Arabic. So wouldn't a logical assumption be that the hotheaded dad is Sayid's pop and the older boy, a sensitive type who's painfully aware that he lets down his formidable paterfamilias, is the future assassin himself?

That's what I thought, too! The hour promises to be a real crusher, with Dad teaching his elder son the kind of lesson in manhood that I suspect inflicts lifelong emotional scars.

Casting for season five

Michael Ausiellio and Doc Jensen at Entertainment Weekly have some tidbits and speculation about roles that will be cast for season five:

Ausiellio: Phil's an ogre who works in corporate security, Jerry's his party-boy colleague, and the doctor is, um, a hippieish doctor who finds himself in a sitch for which no internship could've prepared him.

Doc Jensen's says: "Phil and Jerry work in 'corporate security,' huh? And the doctor is 'hippieish'? My guess: Flashback to the Purge. Phil and Jerry are Dharma footsoldiers, charged with protecting the weird science enclave from 'the hostiles'/'the Others.' Of course, we know they will fail miserably, as Turncoat Ben helped gas the village. Perhaps the 'situation outside of his medical experience' that the doctor finds himself in is racing against time to save his fellow peeps from exposure to the gas."

Will we soon learn more about Lance Reddick's character?

Will we soon learn more about Lance Reddick's character on Lost? He visited Hurley in the assylum but was also an orderly at the hospital where Locke recouperated.

"My Lost mole reports that Lance Reddick (a.k.a. corporate recruiter Matthew Abaddon, as well as Fringe's Phillip Broyles) was just spotted in Hawaii shooting what I assume is episode 5.6," reports Michael Ausellio at Entertainment Weekly.

Also: "Meanwhile, the show is casting the likely recurring role of Hal, a white dude in his 70s who can still fight the establishment and win. Team Darlton is also on the prowl for an actor to play Mike, a thirtysomething scientist who's on the brink of something big. An authentic Czech accent is required."

Cast in Other Roles: Dominic Monaghan

Dominic Monaghan, aka Charlie, is returning to TV.

But on another show.

He's signed up to guest star on Chuck, says Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausellio: "In what marks his first major TV gig since Lost, Dominic Monaghan has signed on to guest-star on NBC's Chuck as -- stop me if this sounds familiar -- a free-spirited British rock star targeted for death by a shadowy group of evildoers."

Will he back back on Lost? Monaghan says: "That's more of a question for Damon Lindelof. I don't really have a huge amount of control over that. I had a great time on the show, and I think Charlie is a character that is definitely missed. I know a lot of people on the show -- myself included -- get asked a lot of questions about when he's coming back. The general public seems to think he's on his way back at some point. But that's something for Damon to answer. All I can really say is if it was the right thing, of course I'd go back."

SPOILER: Mrs. Hawking returns

Remember Mrs. Hawking, played by Fionnula Flanagan? She seemed to know things about the future. Desmond met her when he tried to buy an engagement ring for Penny. A picture of her also appears on Brother Campbell's desk. Apparently, she'll be back in season 5. AND, she has a connection to a major character, according to a video by Michael Ausellio at Enetertainment Weekly.

What happened to Jin, tidbits on a Hurley scene

Michael Ausellio at Entertainment Weekly tells us a bit about Jin's fate and an upcoming Hurley scene.

Question: I don't know if I can wait until January or February for Lost. Got any scoop on it? --Nick

Ausiello: Sawyer, Juliet, Daniel, Miles, Charlotte, and ***** will learn Jin's fate at the precise moment we do: in episode 4. In other news, ask yourself this question: Why was Jorge Garcia shooting a scene in jail last week?

Michael Ausellio at Entertainment Weekly reports that he was suspicious whether Claire, played by Emilie de Ravin, would really be back for Season 6 after confirming that she'd be gone for the upcoming season.

He talked to executive producer Carlton Cuse and was told:

"Claire is a wonderful part of the show and the audience can rest assured that they will see [her] again on Lost."

"It's just all part of Damon and my grand plan for how the story is going to be best told. And we don't want someone to be on the show and not be serviced well. The story that we're telling this year is going in some other directions, but we'll circle back around to include Emilie we think in a very exciting way."
